One moment, we're caring for our precious newborn who is completely vulnerable and dependent on us, and in the blink of an eye the tables turn, and it is us who needs to be cared for.
The photo (above on the right), taken in a hospital emergency room, is almost an exact replica of a page from the children's book "Love You Forever" (photo below).

The circle of life is a beautiful thing, with conflicting emotions attached to it.
There's sadness as we accept the aging process, realizing that we won't be around forever. And, there's happiness in the love and pride we feel for our children.
I think there's a really good lesson here.
Time marches on for all of us. It doesn't wait for anyone. And, it goes by quick. I think we must try to cherish the moments, to really be present and savor the moments.
That can be hard to do when you're having a bad day or going through a rough time. But, if we open our hearts enough, we'll always discover something to be thankful for, something to cherish.
Your Turn . . .
Did you ever read the book, "Love You Forever" to your children?
